Department Description:  Under the supervision of the County Commissioners and County Clerk, this office offers information, referral and provision of emergency aid to low-income/indigent clientele.  This office provides assistance for basic, reasonable, non-medical necessities and necessary medical services to qualified applicants.  The county is the resource of last resort for Clearwater County residents only.  For those who qualify, assistance may be available for medical costs and dental extractions, burial, emergency prescriptions, rent (to avoid eviction) and utilities.  A complete application, interview and verifications are required.  Medicaid and food stamps are State programs.
