Your tax bills have been mailed out for the 2006 tax year, which are due December 20, 2006 1st half.  To clarify some confusion concerning the School tax I want to advise you that you will still see some taxes going to the School on your property tax bill.  The only part of the School tax that was taken off the property tax was the Maintenance and Operation (M&O) portion. 

The Supplemental levy, Plant facility and Tort will still be listed on your bill.  This change took place during the August special Legislative session.  The voters also confirmed this by adopting the change by agreeing to the Advisory Vote, which was on the November ballot.  Do not confuse this with Proposition #1 that dealt with the increase of Sales tax for Schools that did not pass.

If you have not received your 2006 tax bill please contact the Clearwater County Tax Collector’s office at 208-476-5213.  Please remember that if you want to make a payment by credit card you can use a facility called Official Payments but will have to pay a fee for that service or you can choose to make monthly payments through the County Tax Collector’s Office.  Also remember that a payment box for checks only is located in the back of the building by the handicap parking for your convenience.
