After working much of the day Thursday with officials from the Local Highway Technical Assistance Council (LHTAC), the Idaho Transportation Department at the State and local levels, Clearwater County Emergency Management Coordinator Don Gardner who has been working with the State Office of Emergency Management, Don Ebert, Chairman of the Clearwater County Commissioners is pleased to announce that, “we are confident enough after coordinating efforts with the various agencies that the County has everything in order to secure funding for the Grangemont Road Project at MP 22.2 that we will begin a temporary fix on Monday, April 3, 2017.”
Being able to start moving equipment to the site and begin work will ensure that the road will be back open to normal traffic as soon as possible.
With the continuing rain and numerous active slides, the Commissioners urge extreme caution when traveling throughout the County. If you see anything that is or could be a potential hazard, you are asked to call the Clearwater County Sheriff’s Office at 208-476-4521 or 911 if it is an emergency.
